In a search for footage from the massive oil spill that will likely affect every southern coastal city for years to come, I came across this week’s Sunday Video. Filmed 2km from a 2009 oil tanker disaster in Ulyanovsk, Russia, this home video is a humbling reminder of our global oil problems. When you see images like this or of the current oil slick in the gulf of Mexico it’s hard not to think that maybe oil really will be the end of us all.
