There’s less than one month to go before the deadline for submissions for the Miami Writer’s Prize, folks! Submissions in the form of a review of a recent contemporary art event around 800 words in length must be received by May 4th to qualify. The winner, in addition to having their entry published on Artlurker will receive a $400 dollar stipend in return for a month of guest blogging on Artlurker.
Aimed at promoting and encouraging residents of Miami who write critically about art and reinforcing the blogging format the Miami Writers Prize 2010 is held in association with Locust Projects, an alternative, not for profit exhibition space dedicated to providing contemporary visual artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas without the pressures of gallery sales or limitations of conventional exhibition spaces.
UPDATE: DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO JUNE 4th. PLEASE RESUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT BY EMAIL.
